Learning How to Be a Good Golfer

All of the professional golf players have had countless hours of lessons and practice, and most have been playing since a very young age. If you want to be a good golfer, you are going to have to take lessons and spend a lot of time on the driving range and putting greens before you’ll be ready for an actual round of golf. The first thing you should learn is how to set up your shot.

Setting Up Your Shot

  1. Grip: This is the most fundamental thing to learn as a golfer. Using your left hand, you line your thumb up vertically with the logo on the grip of the club. The right hand is then placed in the same manner by covering the thumb. Some people chose to interlock their pinkie and thumb for a more stable grip.
  2. Stance: Feet should be placed shoulder-length apart. Knees should also be slightly bent. You should stand a comfortable distance from the ball, but close enough so that your club lines up with the ball.
  3. Aiming: Some people have a really good stance and swing, but are no good when it comes to aiming. This is the part of golf that takes the most skill. You have to lineup every shot before you take it and then double check that you are still aiming correctly after you have set up your shot.

Use these tips for setting up your golf swing to improve your game. They are also great for beginners who don’t know where to start. Just remember that golf is something you will have to practice at to become good.
